Should I fill the gap?

Hi All, I took the skirting off to fit an Ikea PAX wardrobe flush to the wall and noticed a large gap between the plaster board and floor. The gap is about an inch. Do you think this should be filled or left as is?

I was worried about a draft and a potential for damp as it's against an outside wall. I should add, that the house is about 20 years old, brick, timber frame, breeze block, plasterboard.

A quick squirt of expanding foam should do it - if nothing else, it will hopefully stop bugs making a new home there!
