Hello
I have opened up the kitchen to the dining room. The floor in the dining room is 18mm lower than the kitchen, and has an asphalt base.
I intend to lay solid oak flooring throughout, all at the same level.
I have been told that I cannot use a screed over the asphalt floor because it will compromise the strength of the asphalt.
It was suggested to fit 18mm plywood over the floor and then float the oak flooring on that.
Does anyone have any suggestions of how I fix the ply to the asphalt? the asphalt is 20mm thick on concrete,
best regards...........Campbell123
