Leaking chimney. Flashing fixed. Ceiling fungi. What now?

Hi all,

About a month ago we noticed a dampness in the upper-hallway ceiling.
With all the rain in the UK over the last 3+ weeks we have also had damp spots appear in the adjacent bedrooms' ceilings. All around the chimney breast that goes up the middle of the house.

A roofer went up early last week and fixed the flashing around the chimney in the roof.
Hopefully this has put a stop to the water coming in.

It must have been leaking for a while, as this morning we have just had a mushroom start popping out the wall in the hallway, just below the ceiling where the damp patch is.

I have purchased a dehumidifier, which is due for delivery in 3 days time.

What's my next steps?

Strip all wallpaper below affected areas and run dehumidifier for a few days/weeks?
Treat walls and affected parts of ceiling with anti-fungi solution?

Then redecorate ceilings and walls once dry and treated?

Do I need to do anything in the loft? Or will running the dehumidifier be enough?

Thank you in advance...

OP,
I'd suggest, dont delay. Do it today. Post pics of all the wet areas. Dont do anything else for the moment - just pics.
Especially a pic of the mushroom but leave the mushroom, and any other plant stuff, alone for now, just pic them dont remove them.
Can you also pic the area just above the mushroom damp patch ceiling?
Can you detect a mushroom smell?
Are any of the chimney flues blocked off at fireplace openings?
When did you last have any flues swept?
Have you been into the loft and investigated for damp?

Did the roofers provide pics of their work - it would be helpful to see the details of the chimney stack?

.

When the roofer came, it turned out it wasn't flashing that was fixed, the flashing was all okay.

He said there were massive holes in the chimney itself, so he cemented it.
He has supplied pictures

I had already removed the mushroom before I saw your post below.

We have since removed all the wallpaper in the hallway, and have been running a dehumidifier for the past few weeks.
It gets down to 51-54 quite quicky.

The weather is still quite wet, and I can't see any water coming down where we've stripped the paper.

Then today, another mushroom has sprouted. There was nothing this morning (as have been checking).

Photos attached of chimney outside. As well as walls around the breast in the 3 rooms from 2 weeks ago.

These are pictures taken today, after a week of the dehumidifier running in the hallway, with bedroom doors open and windows shut.
