Not sure if this is in the correct section or not....

I have an above ground pool and am thinking of fitting a pool heat pump to it.

In terms of positioning a heat pump.... are they best located in large open spaces, or would it be better in a large wooden shed....

The shed it next to the pool and gets really warm inside. I'm not sure how heat pumps work, so wondering if it's better outside or in a warm shed....

They basically 'suck' heat from one place, and transfer it to somewhere else. So it would suck the heat from your hut, which would cool, but then what?.

A heat pump needs as open a space as possible.

Definitely an open space. It would cool your shed down in about 5 seconds
