Fair play, I did zoom in and out on my laptop with a very high def screen, but yeah I agree with you.

    Wind Turbines

All I know is that Trump said the windmills cause cancer- he wouldn't lie, would he? Edit- and yeah, the guy who claimed to be an authority mixed up windmills and wind turbines .

    Strange marks on kitchen ceiling

I would go with water stains- meaning that you have, or had a leak. I wouldn't lose any sleep unless it gets worse. I recommend that my customers use a pencil to trace the outline and see if it becomes bigger. BTW, I am decorator rather than a plumber. I think it is unlikely to be a...

    Wire End Crimps

I purchased a german ratchet tool. Off hand I can't remember which one. When I say German, the brand, is German, made in China though. I spent quite a bit of time searching, and eventually got it for about £20. From memory, the tool is still in the box. In the event that I am sober when I get...

    Private Number Plates

I saw the boxer David Haye's car parked near White City tube station on Sunday morning. It is D11AYES BTW, the above image is from Facebook. The car I saw, I think, was a convertible Bentley and not a Rolls Royce.

    Wire End Crimps

I recently had to extend the flex on my mum's Miele washing machine. I decided to go with the same female spade connectors used by Miele. They are the uninsulated ones that grip both the copper and insulation. https://www.cablecraft.co.uk/uninsulated-push-on-terminals-6-3-x-0-8mm Admittedly, I...

    Auto locking Wink Haus mechanism

Many thanks. However, he says that if he closes the door as he leaves, without lifting the handle and using the key, he can open it by simply pushing down the handle. Is it possible that the fitters intentionally tweaked it to stop people accidentally getting locked out? He would prefer that...

How to fix acoustic plasterboard to block wall without dot and dab?

My, lay, understanding is that very low frequencies travel through solids, not higher frequencies. It seems that the ability of expanding foam to dampen noise is often overrated and that mineral wool would be better, but in the OP's case the foam will fill the void if they go down the dot and...

How to fix acoustic plasterboard to block wall without dot and dab?

I have seen the manufacturers of the sound insulating boards saying that the dot and dab empty cavity can amplify noises. I would imagine that they know what they are talking about, especially given that recommending against dot and dab will result in a degree of lost sales.

    Auto locking Wink Haus mechanism

A friend lives in a communional flat. When he leaves his flat, he needs to lift the door handle and use a key to lock the door. He would rather that it locked when he closes the door. I have had a quick look at the product. https://www.duffells.com/amfile/file/download/file/24/product/26760/...

How to fix acoustic plasterboard to block wall without dot and dab?

I have seen people in AV forums recommend that you fill the void with expanding foam (after using dot and dab adhesive). You would need to drill a series of holes in the plasterboard and squirt in the expanding foam to close the cavity. You might however need to drill a lot of holes. Ideally...

    Taller Mitre Box (and saw)

I guess that you mean that you need to find someone that can calibrate timber framing with straight edges. To be honest, I don't know the answer. I own a Nobex Champion (manual) mitre saw. I could cut the slot (up to180mm tall), but if you got someone with an electric mitre saw to cut it for...

    Asbestos garage roof

6 by 2? That is tiny, do you mean metres rather than feet? The fibreglass roof will require OSB or ply. You will need additional supports/joists. Ten grand still sounds expensive. I have only fibre glassed two roofs, but that was back in September 2007- can you post the quote? Someone more...
