I'm not sure you fully grasp what you need to do? Power off safely isolated Separate the Reds. One lead on the multimeter goes to one of those and the accompanying black from the same T&E. Switching the switch will place a direct short on one of them so you do this to work out which is feeding the switch, if nothing happens to the first cable you test with the switch in on or off then try the other cable.

No need to part the reds really
Power off test at rose.
One probe on the Red pair and other probe do 1 black at a time
Switch off no bleep, switch on bleeps, then that Black is switch live.
