page has infiltrated the desktop!!!!!!!

hi all,
i would greatly appreciate some advice with the following problem please.just by surfing a page has ended up on the desktop and i just can't get rid of the bl***y thing and its really annoying i've tried system restore and it wont work and all possible deletes.surely i wont have to reformat the whole hard-drive has anybody got any remedies other than taking the 7lb lump to it thanks for any replies

Not sure what O/S you are using (ME?), but sounds like it is part of your active desktop.

Right click on desktop to bring up display properties. Click on the web tab. Click reset all and then apply. This will reset the active desktop.

dont use internet microsoft explo

use MOZILLA or FIREFOX (windows is evil )

Heres a example, did fresh install of winxp and with in 10 mins of using explo he had popups eveywhere and banners on browser (very very crap)

I only use it to get updates from microsoft but thats it, stopped using it 1 & half years ago
