IP CCTV system

Hi everybody,

I had an analogue HIKVision CCTV system with DVR installed about 18 months ago and whilst it is OK, I want to see if I can replace it with a system I can add to my home automation setup - Home Assistant with Alexa and a Synology NAS with Surveillance Station. I cannot connect the current DVR to my setup, unless somebody knows how to, so am willing to custom build myself a system. What is everybody's advice for types/ mmakes of camera and so on? I have the tech knowledge to install everything.

.... or does anybody know how I can see my analogue cameras in Home Assistant via its app?

What DVR do you have?
You should be able to call each camera with a http:// command line using the IP address of the camera and the channel along with a password and username.

There is a site with a whole list of these command lines but cant remember its name at the minute.
