Evening all,

We're converting our old bathroom into a playroom for our daughter.

Removing the suite has left me with 2 40mm wastes and a 110mm waste to fill in permenantly.

What's the best way of doing this? I think the 40mm's may join along the run so ill chase them back to there but my plan was to use some expanding foam to give me a backing, push some wire wool into the foam then cement over the foam and wire wool.

I'd do the same as the above for the 110mm too but at both ends of the pipe as I've access to it at the ic too.

Is there a better method?

Thanks
Chris

You really want to get them as far back to the stack as possible, if not all the way back to the stack and then use plugs into the boss'/branch.

Unfortunately there under concrete so I can only access either end,

Should of mentioned its a ground floor bathroom.

So that's what I've got, that's a 110mm cap in the original clay soil pipe, the issue with this is it's raised above floor level so will need cutting back and I don't fancy a plastic cap stopping rats if any find there way in through the ic.

The 2 smaller pipes I'm fairly sure from memory join but I'll find out tomorrow as that bit of wall and the window above it are coming out.

Will any old mix of concrete do for blocking up the outlet in the ic or does it need to be a special mix?

Thanks
Chris

Pretty stiff, 3 or 4 to 1 concrete mix will do, don't want it going where you don't need it, and will dry quicker the less water used. Could use some at top end, stuff some reasonably thick polythene down the pipe and fill the void above with concrete.

So the 2 40mm's both went into the same grated gulley, I can't access the gulley so I've just removed the pipes from it and it can be left to it's own devices.

The 110mm I've blocked with a layer of concrete, then some wire wool, then some more concrete to finish.

Our 4 year old daughter wanted to know all about what was going on.

The other end of the 110mm in the house I filled as I discussed earlier, some expanding foam with wire wool in, concrete on top of that then a mcalpine cap stuck in top of that with stix all,it will the be self levelled over at a later date.

Thanks
Chris
