    Bouncy LVT

Yeah, flooring companies I've spoken to said they won't use fully-floating tiles. It's frustrating. The builders said we HAD TO have it wall to wall because to ensure it'd stay flat. Never mind us paying for floor we wouldn't see. Then they install the kitchen cabinets on it, which the...

It's floating: no glue because the tiles have underlay attached to the underside.

    Unfortunately we have.

    Bouncy LVT

Thanks for replying. The builders laid a latex levelling screed first, then put the LVT on that. But when we walk on the floor it feels like there's hollows or dips underneath. They said the latex screed is never completely flat and those dips are to be expected but aren't causing the problem...

    Bouncy LVT

Thanks. I got the instruction sheet from Howdens and it does say not to put the units on top. Before they laid it I asked the builders and they said they had to lay the floor tiles all the way across, i.e. under the units. Didn't seem right to me but that's what they've done. They also said the...

Floating. They can't glue it as there's underlay attached to each tile.

    Bouncy LVT

We had LVT laid last June which is already having problems. It's bouncy, uneven and makes cracking noises all over. In one room the latex under the floor was all cracked. The builder recently lifted some of the kitchen floor tiles to check, but that latex wasn't cracked. Could the problem be...

Cracked latex under new luxury vinyl tile

Thanks dazlight, that's brilliant. I'll pass that information on to the builders and see what they think. If they're not confident I'll look for someone else to do the damp-proofing, then get them back to re-lay the tiles. Cheers.

Cracked latex under new luxury vinyl tile

Thanks dazlight. It's a concrete base. I don't know exactly when it was laid but it was there before we bought the place, so more than 14 years. They filled that gap yesterday and came back today to put the tiles back. But overnight more of the latex developed cracking and lifted too. They...

Cracked latex under new luxury vinyl tile

We had a new floor laid in July. It started lifting and buckling recently so the builder came to look at it yesterday. The latex they laid underneath the tiles is cracking. They're trying to help but say they don't know why it's happening. The latex went on top of the original concrete base. I'm...
