    Cracked soil pipe drain

I'd have it all out and replaced in plastic, only issue is where you'd put the soil whilst digging the old pipework out. If it won't all go in front of the window I'd wait until the road was quiet and lay a tarp directly outside your gate on the road and pile it there, there's no need for it to...

    Cracked soil pipe drain

If you encased it in concrete how would you know if it started leaking again until it appears as a damp problem at which point you've more issues than you have now. The weather's good I'd be getting going digging it out, not take long aslong as it's not silly deep the it's sorted.

Mounting a TV on a paramount wall

Interesting idea but the pole would drive me mad I reckon, the room will be getting plastered at some point so I think I'll just cut into it, remove the card honeycomb then run vertical studs attached to the floor joists at the top and a sole plate. I'll then fix a piece of osb across the...

Mounting a TV on a paramount wall

Hi all, We have a paramount wall that I need to mount a 55" TV on, I'm guessing I'll going to have to cut into the wall and build a stud structure inside it or have plasterboard fixings come far enough that there's something I can use? I can't just rip the wall down as the otherside of it is...

    Cracked soil pipe drain

Personally I'd replace the lot depending on how deep it's buried but I'd be doing it diy, if your paying someone it'll come down to how the quotes look and what you can afford

    Blocking off waste pipes

So the 2 40mm's both went into the same grated gulley, I can't access the gulley so I've just removed the pipes from it and it can be left to it's own devices. The 110mm I've blocked with a layer of concrete, then some wire wool, then some more concrete to finish. Our 4 year old...

How long for concrete to dry before self levelling?

Hi all, As you can see in the picture above I've laid some concrete to fill in some big holes/channels in our old bathroom floor. How long do I need to give the concrete to dry before I can self level over the top of it all? Thanks Chris

    Blocking off waste pipes

So that's what I've got, that's a 110mm cap in the original clay soil pipe, the issue with this is it's raised above floor level so will need cutting back and I don't fancy a plastic cap stopping rats if any find there way in through the ic. The 2 smaller pipes I'm fairly sure from memory join...
