It certainly was. Me too in several buildings I manage and in one of my rental properties. No

    IP66 Socket breaking

I've had 3 of these BG's in use for years, they always feel they should be fragile but not broken one yet I always push the cover before unlocking/locking to relieve the pressure on the latch.

It just started blowing the fuse when I switch it off.

I had another where an old boy had damaged a switch with his zimmer frame and tried to replace it but explained that at the outset and I knew before I spoke to them. IIRC it was only a 1G single way.

And on that very note in a rental property: "I keep getting shocks" found no meter, the live tail from CU jambed into the cutout fuse position and IIRC neutral and earth on the MET.

In this case it was reported as just started blowing the fuse and when I asked what changes had been made it was a blatant 'Nothing has changed'. the 'remaining' light in the centre of the room looks new and this rose was near the window, I could see a metal fitting in the wheeliebin. So I...

Taylor Wimpey new build sockets/plugs query

A friend of mine had a second baby and made the decision to partition a bedroom to create a nursery, did the job with 1½ x ¾ timber and 3mm ply recovered from packing cases from work, the only real problem he had was hammering in the nails to fix the ply where it was all so flexible. He was...

That is basically all a partition wall is at the end of the job: a structure fixed to floor and ceiling.

Taylor Wimpey new build sockets/plugs query

The closest I ever got to anything like this was a colleague at work around early to mid 80's wanted to knock through between the kitchen and dining room. He got an architect to calculate the RSJ required, sourced it and arranged for a few of us to be there early Saturday morning, hired acrow...

I don't know, I took the 'spare' from the loop bar to bring it back into use and of course added some earth sleeve.

It just started blowing the fuse when I switch it off.

Correct but completely adequate for resolving the problem in this case. I didn't bother getting any of these out: The light was about 5ft from this rose which tested as the 1mm² T&E, I suspect the customer had removed the original light fitting and fitted this rose in it's place as a junction...

By coincidence there was a metal 3 arm fitting visible in the partially open wheeliebin.
