I think I'd prefer to live in a Tesla

    Waste pipe splicing?

Double bowl sink? What's on the other bowl? You can also get a kit that would let you tap the dishwasher into the waste after the trap https://www.screwfix.com/p/washing-machine-drain-out-kit/75883 Ensure something exists to stop drain smells coming into the dishwasher (your dishwasher...

Looking for someone to weld a piece of tube for me, but not sure who or how to ask

If you wanted to arrange the postage I'd do it for nothing; I like welding. You might struggle if the bar is over 2m though A quick google for steel fabricators, people who make gates and railings etc Or just buy a stick welder; they're low tech but ideal for this sort of job. You can get a...

Where could water be coming from?

You mean like the last person upon whom you bestowed the following consideration? :) No, it will look gash. Take the sink out and re-seat it on a new bead of silicone. The way those sinks are made they often don't have a good flat lip in the corners to take a bead of sealant. If you find...

To cut or not to cut? - that is the question...

Insulation for the back of the loft hatch board, and self adhesive foam tape to make the edges a good seal And sort the rest of the loft insulation out while you're up there. Aim for 300mm of clean, uncompressed, well fitted wool in two or more layers, the lowest layer running between the...

    Generator for pressure washer

Nice find, and curiously coincidentally the exact two components we're discussing too! I wonder why there aren't more accessories for it..

    Screeding for block paving

Yea just bear in mind if using 6mm bedding aggregate that when you brush your kiln dried sand between the blocks to lock them in place, the first rain will likely see the kiln sand wash between the bedding and disappear from the gaps. I used a bit of lime mixed in as a binder for mine in the end

    Nissan Micra 2004

The puzzling part is where you say you use the mechanical key (the silver part you push into a hole in/near the door handle) and turn it you cannot get the door to open Every car I ever owned where the typical way in was "push the button on the fob and the door unlocks electronically" has also...

    Generator for pressure washer

I've often thought for these things there should be an easy plug n play system that separates the engine from the tool, so you buy a gx270 or whatever and then plug it into the generator frame, or the jet washer frame, like a tractor uses its PTO to power all manner of farm machinery.

    MP3 cd's

There is a significant difference between a data CD that contains eg 10 files in WAV format and an audio CD that contains 10 tracks. WAV can represent audio in many more formats than the fixed 16bit 44kHz PCM that CDs use for audio CDA isn't a real file (if you can accept that a WAV file is)...

    VAT

Yea, I quoted the wrong part of berty's implication that VAT keeps rising, sorry Thanks for linking to a document that shows that VAT has historically gone down as well as up, countering the "keep going up" assertion - I couldn't find one that laid it out nicely

How to put router somewhere else?

Heck no.. ..but then I wouldn't have bothered moving the router either; I'd have just slept with foil rollers in

Wet room enclosure, on tiled floor

If the floor is level, sure. If it slopes to drain the water you'll need to do something - enclosure screens are installed on the level edge of a tray Be sure to clean the existing tiles well; silicone won't adhere properly to tiles covered in conditioner etc
