Builders' Merchants-can you (cherry) pick your timber? And is this mischief? (Pic)

Initialled every piece of wood? Wow, that’s pretty OCD. The lads will usually just pick what’s on the top of the pile for the next order, they’re not cherry picking. They won’t know if your the biggest/best customer or some first time buyer when they get the pick list. You sometimes get a dud...

    My kitchen refit.

Looking good Mottie, nice clean working space too (y) Have you thought about replacing that window with one that has full length top hung openers? Just thinking that having the handle at the bottom makes them easier to open when reaching over the worktop.

    Self build extension costs

Brick/blockwork isn’t that hard to do if you take your time. Loads of videos on YouTube to learn from. I was quite apprehensive about laying before I started, but you pick it up. I’d never be quick enough to earn a living doing it, but it holds my roof up. Rendering will cover your sins too.

    Self build extension costs

If you get a few mins then it might be worth reading my build thread (link below in my footer). A one storey extension isn’t too bad as limited working at height speeds things up. To be honest, I don’t think you’ll make a massive saving if your not willing to do the brick/blockwork yourself as...

    Evolution cut off saws

Consider it an upgrade if you’re going from 230mm to a 305mm blade - which is perfect for making it all the way through a single skin wall in one cut - if you ever need to do that sort of job. Worth keeping an eye on the Evolution refurb store - they have good deals on graded stock, which will...

    Evolution cut off saws

Sorry, I’d only just seen the thread tonight to reply. The water model churns out a lot of water to make the dust suppression successful. Ive seen others use hand sprayers or a damp sponge to cool the blade/surface with other cutters/grinders even if they are electric, generally when cutting...

    Evolution cut off saws

The r300dct+ is the water fed model. It has various extra features to make it waterproof - most importantly a circuit breaker. I have one, very good tool. I also have the non water model, which is bought previously. Very different tools, I would not use my first one with water.

    What have you bought today?

The screws come with the switches or the plugs, rather than the back boxes. I was thinking your 20A switches will have then on the rear of the switch :)

    What have you bought today?

You must have found some proper cheapo ones then if they didn't provide the screws. They're usually clipped into the back of the switch if they're not in a separate little plastic packet. Too late now, but I would have bought a box of these...
