I'm replacing what was decking steps with concrete. The base that's been dug away varies from sandy to clay to a mix with soil. Gonna build a wood frame for the concrete, but with the soft base could I get away with adding reinforced steel bars knocked in to hold all the concrete in place. At...

The isolators are just before the shower inlets and when open and not connected to the shower they run fine, hot out of the hot and cold out of the other
I just snuck in a couple of isolator valves and cold washes through fine but when I turn off the cold the hot doesn't go through at all as if its blocked.Took the brass connectors off and they look clear. So not sure?
Have renovate by en-suite and acquired a Grohe Avensys Modern Concealed Shower Mixer 34224 off ebay. Very nice piece of kit The shower is fed from a combination boiler and mains cold supply. At first you could still just about get the shower hot enough but only by turning the on-/off lever back...

Thanks yeah that's what I'm doing and it's hard work but as you detail necessary. Will get that product. Have a great weekend, too nice for decorating!

Many thanks Andy
Often the best and free solution can work very well. Fill the sink as high as you can and cover any overflow holes with a flannel of towel or something. Then get a wrag/flannel or cloth and whilst covering the overflow plunge up and down over the waste which creates enormous suction and may work...
