I'm pretty sure there will be trouble codes stored - I'd look for a diesel specialist if there is one nearby.
There's a fair chance there will be turbocharger issues, maybe combined with an EGR fault - but the only thing you can really do is to look for any split or missing pipes and trunking...
It certainly shouldn't but do make sure that the piston is free to slide back into the caliper, and the 'lands' - the part of the caliper bracket that the pads sit on - are rust free.
At least, it rules the brakes out of the equation!
John :)
It seems like you have dealt with the slow running jet ( that’s the one on the top of the carburettor) and the emulsion tube....that one deals with revs up to 3/4 maximum then the main jet fully takes over.
If you have an air line you could have another go, but I’d really go for a replacement...
I would:
Remove the brake pads, wire brush clean or replace if necessary
Ensure the caliper can slide on its pins, and the piston can be pushed back in easily;
Check the discs ( both sides) for glazing or rust - especially the inside which cannot be seen;
Clean out and/or file the caliper fixing...
The engine surging is usually due to carburettor issues, as you suspect.
Can I ask you which valves you enlarged please?
A new carb could be the way to go - often the Chinese replacements are astonishing value for money.

I say I'll never give my bank details to anyone....but I may donate via a rattle can if I feel like it.
Chuggers are detestable and often put people in a difficult situation. They should be outlawed and the banks should warn people about them.

I got an advisory on the HRV because the clutch pedal rubber had nearly a hole in it....apparently that can be a fail.
Use a genuine dealer fitment.

Fingers crossed for a sump plug seal!
However, corroded steel sumps are very common, largely due to engines being rather oil tight these days. Yours doesn't seem rusty but you never know!
Sump to block sealing is usually by silicone - no gaskets needed.
If you get no where, clean the area...
Your septic tank should be able to handle quite a volume of water.....maybe you should check that the outfalls are performing?
After all, there's a large volume of water when you run a bath!
John :)
All I can say here is that the tines that rotate have a curved steel wire finger that scrapes into the grass, and on some machines you have to pull them backwards. This should hurl the debris into the box.
Either way, you end up with a mountain of moss!

On some VAG cars, the driveshafts have a flange coming out of the diff.....the driveshaft can be unbolted from this.
Some driveshafts pull straight out, some have a snap ring ( I called it a slip ring earlier).
If you find this type, a lever similar to a tyre lever jumps them out.
You’ll lose...
